Dr. Xu is an associate professor of Tongji University. He got the PhD degree at Tongji University in 2006. In 2011, he worked as a visiting professor at the Nagoya Institute of Technology. His Primary research interests are tunneling and geotechnical engineering, subgrade and foundation engineering, road and railway engineering. In the past decade, Dr. Xu took part in many national and provincial major scientific research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, National High Tech Research and development program and Research Program for Western China Communication, etc. He has published more than 60 papers in the different academic journal at home and aboard. He is also the co-author of three books. Presently, he is the editorial board member of international Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and he also works as peer reviewers for many domestic academic journals, such as Chinese Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, Chinese Journal of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, Chinese Journal of Underground Space and Engineering, etc. In addition, he has 2 invention patents and 1 patent for utility models been authorized.
