Dr. Wei Zhu is an associate professor in transportation engineering, and the deputy head of the Department of Transportation Management Engineering. He is also a member of the Rail Transit Technical Committee of the World Transportation Convention (WTC), a member of the Committee on Rail Transit Infrastructure Design and Maintenance (AR060) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB), a special researcher of the China Society of Logistics, and a member of the Youth Editorial Board ofJournal of Railway Science and EngineeringandData Science and Management.

Dr. Wei Zhu has long been devoted to teaching and researching on passenger flow analysis and operation safety management for rail transit networks. In recent years, he has presided over two projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and four provincial and ministerial projects funded by departments including the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality (STCSM), Shanghai Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science, and Shanghai Municipal People's Government. He is the recipient of one Second Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Railway Society, oneSecond Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Award (Science and Technology Progress), one Second Prize of Outstanding Urban and Rural Planning Design of Fujian Province, and two First Prizes of Science and Technology Progress Award of Shanghai Railway Bureau.
