Biography
Dr. Tang is now a professor at Department of Comprehensive Transportation Information and Control Engineering, Tongji University. He received his Ph.D. at Department of Civil Engineering, Nagoya University in 2008. Afterwards, he has worked at the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo as a JSPS postdoctoral research fellow from 2008 to 2010 and Department of Information Science, Tohoku University as a project assistant professor from 2010 to 2011, as well as University of California, Berkeley as a visiting scholar in 2010. He has led and involved several national research projects in China and Japan and published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Tang’s research interests span over driver behavior, signal control, traffic simulation and intelligent transportation systems. His awards include Shanghai Advancement in Science and Technology Award (2014), Excellent Paper Award of Annual Meeting of Chinese Association of ITS (2013), Shanghai Pujiang Grant (2012), Excellent Young Scholar Program of Tongji University (2011), Fellowship of Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (2010), Scholarship of the Foundation for the Promotion of Industrial Science (2010), and Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship (2005).
